Gravity Desert Flip is a single-player puzzle game. You can play it without an account and without a network connection. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts or photos, and the game never uses your device's precise location.
Your progress is stored on your device. What leaves your device is described below: anonymous usage statistics sent to our own analytics server (you can switch them off), and the data processed by the Google services the game uses for ads, purchases and - if you sign in - leaderboards and cloud save.
The game saves the following locally so your progress survives restarts:
Deleting the app, or clearing its data in your device's settings, erases all of this from your device. On Android, if you are signed in to Google Play Games, a copy of your progress is also kept in your Play Games account (see Third-party services).
To learn which parts of the game work and which need fixing, the game sends usage events to our own analytics server at posthog.ruicodex.com (PostHog, run by RuiCodex on its own infrastructure; the events do not go to an analytics company).
The events are named moments of play and of the shop, for example: a run or a puzzle started and finished (with mode, score and result), the Caravan Road, the Sand of the Day and the Sand Bottles, rank-ups, missions and achievements, which tabs you open, purchases started and their result (the product identifier, never payment details), rewarded videos and their result, a rating prompt being requested and, if you use the feedback form, its category and the length of your note - never the note itself. With each event the analytics software records basic technical details: device model, operating system, app version and language.
The events are linked to a random identifier created on your device, not to your name, your email address, your Google account or your advertising identifier. While usage statistics are on, you can see and copy this identifier under Settings → Usage statistics (Analytics ID). The analytics server discards your IP address instead of storing it with the events, and no location is derived from it. The game does not record your screen, does not capture your taps automatically and never sends anything you type. Test and quality-assurance builds of the game send nothing.
Usage statistics are on by default. You can switch them off at any time under Settings → Usage statistics; from that moment nothing more is sent. We use this data only to improve the game. We do not sell it and do not share it with third parties for their own purposes. The events are kept only for as long as they help us improve the game. To have the events from your installation deleted, see Data deletion requests.
To find and fix crashes and freezes, the game sends error reports to Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), which processes them for us as a data processor in its EU data region (Germany). A report contains the error type, the stack trace and the technical steps the game logged just before it, the game version, technical device information (device model and manufacturer, operating system and version, screen size, memory and storage, battery state, network type, language and time zone) and a random installation identifier created by the Sentry SDK to count affected installations. Reports never contain your name, email address, Google account or advertising ID; IP addresses are neither stored nor used to locate you, and no screenshots are taken. Crash reports follow the usage statistics switch: with Settings → Usage statistics off, none are sent. Reports are kept for up to 90 days.
If you enable Motion controls, the game reads your device's accelerometer to detect when you physically turn the device, which flips in-game gravity. These readings are processed on the device in real time, are never stored, and never leave your device. You can turn Motion controls off at any time in Settings and play with the on-screen flip buttons instead.
When you tap SHARE after a new record, the game renders a score image and hands it to your device's share sheet. You choose the destination app. We do not receive a copy and we do not know where you sent it.
If you use Send feedback, the game opens your own email app with a message addressed to info@ruicodex.com. Nothing is sent unless you send that email yourself; if you do, we receive your email address and what you wrote, and use them only to reply and to improve the game. A small in-game thank-you for feedback never depends on what you write or on any store rating. Rate the game and the rating card the game may show come from Google Play itself: we never see whether or how you rated.
Reminders are off until you turn them on. If you do, the game schedules them on your device and your device shows them: no notification server is involved and no data leaves your device for them. You can turn them off in the game's settings or in your device's notification settings.
Besides our own analytics server described above, the game uses the Google services below. Each one has its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to read it.
The game has no chat, no messaging between players and no social features, and players cannot publish their own content in it. It is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children.
To request deletion of the data associated with you, email info@ruicodex.com from any address, with the subject "Gravity Desert Flip data deletion". No account is needed and nothing has to be proven. We answer within 30 days.
What deletion covers:
Version 2.0 of the game added the usage statistics and the reminders described above; earlier versions sent no usage statistics. If this policy changes, the new version will be published at https://gravitydesertflip.ruicodex.com/privacy with an updated effective date.
